Euskara Bizia 2020-2021

Last December, we took the last action of the Euskara Bizia program, which began in October and has been able to develop with many obstacles due to the pandemic. The purpose of this act is to promote the use and visibility of Basque in leisure centres. Thus, the Bilbao Zubiarte Market Center took the final session in 2020. It has also been referred to as the trading zone for the first session in 2021, which we have celebrated since 18:00 on 4 January. A lot of kids come to our area to take part in activities and listen to the story story that's already been habituated to success and is a classic in our programming. The exhibit on Alfredo Espinosa, in Bilbao

The exhibit on Alfredo Espinosa, in Bilbao

Between December 15 and 28, Alfredo Espinosa, formerly head of the department of Health at Orive, will be open in the exhibition hall of the Basurtum Social Center at 1 Zankoeta Street in Bilbao. The exhibition comprises six large panels and other laminae, with various images of this humanist doctor's brief life. The fascists shot Gasteiz in 1937, after he was captured in Zere. The pilot who was to take him from Tolosa to Santander betrayed Espinosa, and because of the supposed failure he landed the plane on the beach of Clawalet, where the francists were waiting for him. The grandson of the famous Salustian Orive (inventor of the "Licor del Polo"), Espinosa was a convinced republican, the physician of the poor (he paid no money for the care of…

Adi! is the only channel of its kind, as in Youtube there is no other space for children with educational and leisure content. That's why he's having a great reception in that area.

Espinosa´s exposition is open

As we predicted, on December 1 last year, an exhibition on the former head of health at Alfreo Espinosa Orive was opened at the South African Youth Center. Espinosa was arrested in April 1937 for treason and tried in Gasteiz and shot two days after his arrest in that city. Although little known, the letter he addressed to the then President, Jose Antonio Aguirre, moved all those who had read it because of the terrible humanism that lay there. For Espinosa had written a letter a few hours before his execution, where he was not only asking for protection for his family, but also intervened for the fascists who might have been sentenced to death. The exhibit will be open until December 15 to be delivered to the Basque Social Center…
