Espinosa´s exposition is open

As we predicted, on December 1 last year, an exhibition on the former head of health at Alfreo Espinosa Orive was opened at the South African Youth Center. Espinosa was arrested in April 1937 for treason and tried in Gasteiz and shot two days after his arrest in that city. Although little known, the letter he addressed to the then President, Jose Antonio Aguirre, moved all those who had read it because of the terrible humanism that lay there. For Espinosa had written a letter a few hours before his execution, where he was not only asking for protection for his family, but also intervened for the fascists who might have been sentenced to death.

The exhibit will be open until December 15 to be delivered to the Basque Social Center in Bilbao.
