Successful XII Youth Meeting

Following the course of the last few years, and maintaining our Foundation's commitment to peace, coexistence and the European spirit, the 12th Century World War XII World War II will be celebrated. We celebrated the Youth Meeting again this year in Belgium. A total of 26 people have been able to meet the European institutions directly, recognizing the main concerns of young Europeans and publicising their own. The four-day stay has been quite fruitful, and we have organised a number of conferences and meetings in Brussels in cooperation with the European Commission, the Council and the European Commission of the Regions.

Recital of Basque music and bertsolaris

The Leizaola Foundation, as part of the activities it organizes within the Euskal Astea program, will offer Basque music, dance and a performance by the bertsolari Peru Irastorza next Friday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Bilbao's Bilborock hall. The event will begin and end with a performance by the San Antonio choir from the Bilbao neighborhood of Iralabarri. The choir will perform five songs, from Oskorri to Maitetxu mía, by Francisco Alonso. But the Beti Jai Alai Dantza Taldea from Bilbao will also participate and will make their art known. Basque, healthy but with many challenges

As we had announced, on Thursday, May 5, we held a meeting at Bilbao's Euskararen Etxea that brought together prominent personalities from the world of the Basque language. The space, moderated by the journalist Agurtzane Bilbao, was attended by Patxi Baztarrika, renowned Euskaltzale, linguist and politician, Paul Bilbao, director of Euskalgintzaren Kontseilua, Miren Agurtzane Elorduy, professor and researcher at the UPV, Kepa Erdozia, professor and researcher from the UPV, Maddi Etxebarria, from Elhuyar Fundazioa, and Miren Elixabete Larrinaga, professor and researcher at the UPV. In line with the spaces for reflection that the Foundation usually organizes, next Thursday, May 5, we will hold a meeting that will bring together prestigious experts in the field of Basque. New training workshops

We continue with the organization of our training workshops in various areas of peace and coexistence, and the next three months are certainly going to be intense. On March 15 we will give two workshops on “Interpersonal Relations. Empathy with others to live in society”, at the Paulo Freire center in Vitoria-Gasteiz. One will take place in the morning, from 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the other will be offered in the afternoon, from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In turn, on Monday, March 21, we will give this same workshop at the Círculo Calle Francia center, also in the capital of Alava. Exhibition about Telesforo Monzón

From February 17 to 28, the exhibition "Telesforo Monzón: from myth to reality" will be open in the Birika de Derio culture room, which presents and narrates the most outstanding aspects of the life trajectory of this important politician. Monzón, in addition to being one of the most influential politicians in the Basque Country in the 20th century, was also a writer and composer. The Euskara Bizia program begins again

Last Saturday, December 11, we celebrated in Bilbao the first performance of the Euskara Bizia initiative. The Zubiarte shopping center was the starting point for this year's activities, in which, as on previous occasions, numerous children participated, as well as their parents. Snapshot of the workshop that we gave in Laudio on March 5, 2020 Although the current health situation is worrying, we continue with the University of Experience, and in December we have three appointments with as many centers. Thus, we will offer workshops on interculturality and coexistence in Eibar, Zumarraga and Legazpi. In Eibar you will have us on December 14, and in Zumarraga-Urretxu and Legazpi six days later, on the 20th. In Eibar and Zumarraga we will offer workshops in the morning, from 10 in the morning and from 9:30 to 12:00 noon .
