The exhibition organized by the Foundation in order to recover and remember the figure of the charismatic, but also controversial Basque politician Telesforo Monzón has now moved to the town of Erandio. It will remain open in the exhibition room of the Josu Murueta culture center between February 28 and March 7.
On February 17, around fifty young university students from the UPV Faculty of Law had the opportunity to visit the Basque Parliament and the Gogora Institute with the help of the Foundation. As in previous editions, in addition to following the plenary session live and learning about the Zabalik programme, they also had the opportunity to visit the Gogora Basque Institute of Memory.
From February 17 to 28, the exhibition "Telesforo Monzón: from myth to reality" will be open in the Birika de Derio culture room, which presents and narrates the most outstanding aspects of the life trajectory of this important politician. Monzón, in addition to being one of the most influential politicians in the Basque Country in the 20th century, was also a writer and composer. Eight large-format panels go through some of the most emblematic episodes of his life. Idealized by some, harshly criticized by others, Monzón was a very polyhedral character, and his career is not exempt from chiaroscuro.

Workshops to learn to paint, karaoke of Basque songs and storytelling complete the nucleus of this initiative with a history of more than 15 years.

A group of students from the Faculty of Law of the University of the Basque Country moved to Brussels at the hands of the Foundation. Difficulties were not lacking along the way, as Belgium is, together with the Netherlands and Austria, one of the areas most affected by the pandemic. In this way, they have been one of the very few groups of visitors who have been able to go to the European Parliament, which only opened its doors a couple of days before the arrival of our group, to close them again after our departure. Other visits took place at the…
